Of the 32 people awarded LAS 737 FO on the vacancy bid, half were bidding down in aircraft size. This likely means they were just doing that to us the "new" BES provision to break their freeze. That coupled with the fact that there were 15 unfilled Captain positions in LAS, makes it seem that getting to LAS quickly is not going to be difficult and getting a Captain bid there could come as early as 1 year on the property.
Not sure when you are starting, but getting 737 FO in New Hire would make getting to LAS super fast. If you are not starting for a while, then you may not be able to get to LAS as quickly. The new BES definition expires 6 months after the effective date of the first bid opening the Base, so in this case you would need an effective date of November 1st, which will prob happen on a bid in June or July. After that, if you are assigned the 320, 756, 777, 787 in New Hire you wouldn't be able to bid to LAS 737 FO for 2 years. So, you would have to wait it out on the other fleet or take the early Captain bid. Hopefully we will have a new contract that fixes many of the reasons that nobody wants a Captain bid when junior, in which case you would be commuting for the full two years.
Assignments in new hire are based on age (oldest goes first), so hopefully you aren't so young that you won't get a choice.

There are multiple jan/feb '23 hires on the bus in den. Should not be difficult to get within one vacancy bid after OE, if not sooner with as frequently as they've been running them.

Warm and sunny with a 100% chance of tourists.
I crack myself up… But anyway, you’re not going to get it in the initial bid on day 1 of indoc, maybe until they grow the base when(if) ALPA allows TPA to open. In the most recent vacancy, two of the MCO 737 FO awards went to pilots with less than 6 months’ seniority, the others were closer to a year or higher seniority. Subject to change of course.

6/13
Has anyone received an initial training date of 6/13 yet? I was hired on 1/30 but my avail date isn’t until June due to my USAF retirement date. Thanks.
Looking forward to being the next junior FO complaining about a contract my first day at TK….
