Is Guam still a remote possibility as a new hire? I've heard to let them know before/at the beginning of indoc, but I know how quickly things change.

As a new hire, it’s possible. Not in BI though. There aren’t any unfilled positions there. They have to be offered to everyone else before the folks in BI. Those are whatever is leftover from recent vacancy bids.

Letting them know before indoc is still a good idea, but the other half of that equation is that there have to have been unfilled vacncies in GUM to give it out. So, the last several vacancy bids have not had any unfilled assignments to GUM, so even if you want one, they can't give it to you. If GUM is your ultimate goal, you would definitely want 737 out of new hire, so you could just lateral from some other base as soon as your seniority could hold GUM.

Vacancy bids are coming out every 4-6 weeks, so depending on when you are starting, you will get a chance to bid to GUM very quickly or if it goes unfilled before you start you could potentially get it straight away.

There are people more than 1000 numbers from the most junior GUM award who have it requested.

Now, being such a niche base, that's probably a fairly small overall number, but then again it's a small base and doesn't usually have a lot of vacancies.

You'll hold it fairly quickly all things considered, but it may take a few vacancy bids since you don't always see GUM on there.

Probably next vacancy bid. Based on past vacancy bids, 366 days to captain.

Lord, people. 737 line holder Captain, best case right now, is 6-ish years (coastal, not including MCO).

subject to change.
