Any idea how long it might take to hold 777 or 787 FO at IAH? (Sorry if that's already posted somewhere, my head's spinning from how much I've been scouring the forums lately.)
On the current vacancy, one year seniority will get you to the very bottom of IAH 777/787 FO. Could always change in the future, obviously.

I imagine one could get EWR on those fleets relatively quickly, but how about upgrade time there?

Ah, okay! I finally think I get it. At least for my situation, where I can drive AUS to IAH, LCR would actually work as it should, since I can always drive 3 hours for a 13-hour callout!

I think I finally have everything I need to know. As previously suggested, if I do get to UA, I can go IAH 320 to start, then probably IAH WB within a couple of years, and I won't mind being on reserve because I can drive there!

Thank you to everybody who helped me figure this out. Seriously, it could be very impactful for me to know this, and it took a lot of detailed information for me to get to this point.

If you’re hired soon, there’s a good chance that there will be 35 IAH 737s to choose from.

320 isn’t the road to IAH that you want. 737 is what you want.

Why are you set on 320's vs 737's? Seniority is more or less the same but slightly better on the 73 side, and yes the 73 cockpit isn't great, but the trips are better. Even if you set all that aside look at the sheer size of the bases.

IAH 320 has 144 FO's to trade trips with, or to pick up their trips, or who can pick up your trips.
IAH 737 has 664 FO's to trade/trade/pick up. That's 500 more pilots that could be willing to help you out if you can't get a certain day off or could be dropping their trips giving you a chance to hustle and make more money.

IAH 737 is the fastest growing BES in the company and 737 is the fastest growth airframe. I would certainly go 73's while you wait for WB's

Don’t assume that you will be able to sit LCR from home. No telling what reserve will be like in our next contract, but if things don’t change you need to understand that being transitioned to short call or FSB should be considered the norm, especially on the NB fleets.

Id absolutely sit SCR from AUS once off probation

I’d have everything packed and ready to go of course

Unless you lived east of AUS, making the 2.5 hr report to duty requirement would be tough.

Are you implying that Long Call could get worse in the next contract? If so then that’s not gonna happen… it might get better but definitely won’t get worse.

You can sit LCR pretty much from anywhere… and if transitioned to SC you have 10 hours minimum to get within 2.5 hours (normal driving time) of the airport… and 12 hours to drive/fly to the airport if assigned a FSB.
