New Hire Classes and Drops

Of those 6 days you get are they picked after your awarded 12 days off? I don’t see anyone being able to pick the week of Christmas’s for those 6 unmovable days off. So it’s prob gonna be some random days off that you have no control of?

That's really helpful, thanks for posting!
Got the CJO recently, and am confused about the relative desirability of the various EWR equipment.
I live local to EWR, and am trying to come up with a strategy if I have the opportunity to choose between several aircraft types at EWR.
Any help with these questions would be much appreciated:
- In the photo of how the new hires chose in October, I noticed that EWR756 went higher than EWR787. I've also noticed that 777 typically goes junior. But APC shows that 777 and 787 FOs have a significantly higher pay starting in second year.
- If a new hire pilot has the option to choose between two or three WB at EWR, what are the advantages and disadvantages of each?
- I heard that new hires often prefer NB over WB because (a) relative seniority advances more quickly and (b) they avoid global reserve. What is global reserve exactly, and how is it worse than reserve that a new-hire NB FO would have?
- If a new hire decides he wants EWR NB, what are the relative merits of A320 vs 737? Does one have better trips or quicker relative seniority?
Thanks in advance for the info.
