He's United pilot on the hiring team. What more could you possibly want? And the insights he give are worth a lot more than what he charges for it.
An excellent choice too. I had already signed up for Cage when I talked to him but he and his team definitely seem to know what they are doing as well.

I second NW and his services at Ascend Above. Worth every cent.

Default Application Timeline

Hey folks,

So I am a SWA pilot looking to go to United. Just curious what others timeline was from application to getting an interview was. I have been at SWA for almost a year, and would assume the B737 type would get me higher on the list. Thanks for all the help in advance!

you will get an interview. When is unknown but do some prep, 75% pass rate currently.

UA has a 75% pass rate on interview? Where are people falling apart? I have heard of more than a few lately getting the no thanks from United and then the green light at Delta.

Total speculation: organizationally, somebody's boss is watching the process and a near 100% pass rate looks bad

Is there any way to even know what the actual pass rate is? I can’t imagine a situation where the company wants to wash a certain percentage, but there will always be those who show up unprepared or butcher the interview. Those people should be cut.

Having only talked to a few people that are involved in pilot interviews, I don’t have a big sample, but their message is consistent. The biggest thing is people showing up who are not prepared. Paperwork isn’t in order and obvious lack of preparation for the interview questions and overall process. The information is out there. Either pay a service for coaching or find the information on your own, but show up ready to answer any possible question, show them that you take the interview seriously, and that you have prepared and genuinely want the job.

Makes sense. As an interviewer at a previous employer it was wildly evident who was simply not prepared at all and who was simply nervous. I rarely saw a candidate show up and give a flawlessly spoken and perfectly presented interview. And the ones that did often times gave a strong impression of not really caring if they got the job or not.
