Thank you!

That almost a toss up with a slight edge to NYC May because you have EWR/LGA/jFK all with lots of flights on AA, DL, UA…

Personally I'd go IAH just to avoid the madness that is EWR

If you really wanted 787 but could only get NB in indoc, how soon could you get it if new seats opened in the 787?

Prob on the next Vacancy bid. Those happen about every 4-6 weeks and lately the 787 FO slots have gone very junior with some going unfilled (thus the assignments to new hires).

Not recommending that you take a 787 bid immediately, but taking a narrowbody assignment does leave you open to take a 756/777/787 whenever you desire as you wouldn't be frozen from bidding them. First year pay is the same regardless of aircraft assignment, so you would only see a financial benefit starting in year 2.

Thank you for the quick response. How long after vacancy bid would training begin? Would it mean that if someone did that, you'd come out of training on the previous airplane and start on the new one?

You would likely complete training on your current aircraft and start training on the vacancy awarded aircraft 4 months or so later. That also means another checkride while on probation. I'm not saying it's tough or anything, just be aware there is some exposure there.
