2 years - unless you move up to 777/787 (unlikely but it's happened IIRC a few years ago). so... 2 years for lateral and "downward" moves. IMO it's a great aircraft and mission even if you're more jr.

That is another thing I am amazed by. People don't seem to select it. Obviously, it would all be dependent on the drops that day but if I were to be hired, I would think about picking it if I had the opportunity.

Well, it all depends on what type of flying you want to do. As was mentioned in numerous other threads, the 756 category is basically a stagnant fleet at best. You won’t move up the list, so plan on being reserve for a long time. If you have a burning desire to go to Europe and do “back side of the clock” flying and will live in base, then maybe you could adjust. Just as a comparison, I’m in my 6th year in EWR. If I were on the 756, I’d be about 60%. Definitely a line holder, but not very good trips. Im on the Bus and 8% in base and get whatever I want. Choose wisely my friend.

He was my 72 training partner. Great guy. We were both out flying our IOE trip when the vacancy bid was awarded. BAM! 74! But it was ORD. He lived like 4 train stops from the airport. He made waaayyy more then me on probation! Of course I was mil-leaving some too...but still...big pay diff!
