Hotel is good, across the street from the training center. Pay is great. Food at cafeteria is fine and cheap. No transportation needed. Shuttle runs from the training center to DIA every 20min. POSITIVE SPACE to and from home. Christmas and New Years off. Enjoy the first two weeks of indoc. Low stress “open book” (IPAD). Enjoy your 8 ball party and wings ceremony!!!
Training does get intense after indoc but settle in the first two weeks and get into a nice routine. Welcome to United; we are glad you are here!

He’s talking about INDOC only. For aircraft training/sim, you work 5 on, 2 off (can be waived if you decide to waive but don’t let scheduling push you around, know the contract) but those days will always shift. Don’t expect it to ever be on sat/sun off because it’s rare.

I upgraded last December/ January. My schedule was:
3 on/ 2 off
3 on/ 3 off
2 on/ 2 off
2 on/ 1 off (Christmas)
3 on/ 2 off
1 on/ 1 off (New Years day)
4 on/ 2 off
5 on/ LOE passed- end of course
Here is what the contract says:
9-F-6 A Pilot shall have no more than five (5) training days in any seven (7) consecutive days, and shall be scheduled for at least one (1) period of at least two (2) consecutive days off every two (2) weeks. For purposes of this Section 9-F-6, a travel day is neither a training day nor a day off.

Definitely not true re the 5 on 2 off for sims. Especially during the holidays. Maybe I was just lucky? 😉
