In a message to employees, United said it would cut international flying by 20% and domestic flights by 10% in April, and park some of its larger, less fuel efficient widebody planes. Further cuts could follow in May, the airline said, if warranted by demand. The cuts were first reported by CNBC.

There are differences between reduced utilization, alternate deployments, temporarily storing aircraft, and retiring aircraft.
UAL has not said anything about retiring 777s (aka fleet reduction).
However, UAL is absolutely overstaffed with 777 FOs as the airplanes are redeployed into domestic service because it does not take 3 FOs to staff a transcon.
