It'll be awhile before that's a problem, especially if it comes to fruition that the UK govt allows Virgin Atlantic to go belly up.

To those who thought Munoz or Kirby were any different than any other CEO, please note how this was handled. They tried suckering more folks into eSRL’s and empty lines then parked the fleet without notice to even ALPA. The company suckered ALPA into eSRL’s and now this horse manure. Expect more shenanigans going forward. WHEN the company asks for concessions remember how they handled this. The company is not your friend. Buyer beware!

Not that I think they're my drinking buddies, but didn't a CCS message effectively make everyone whole more or less immediately after the union brought it up? (no comment on the thoroughness of the LOA)

I think there's going to be a lot of unpleasant stuff rolling downhill towards us and expect/demand strong representation from ALPA but this sounds like more of an issue of the "strategic long term planning team" meeting twice daily and a rapid decision to park a fleet at least for now or maybe permanently.

guess you missed where everyone is getting guarantee. Do you get your ALPA emails?

the problem is the training center is already full of landings classes trying to keep everyone on ALL fleets current. There is literally ZERO open sessions for the next 2 months in the 787 and 777

you can’t use fewer flights the slots must be used a certain percentage of the year and it’s high....like 80%. Right now everyone is operating on a waiver but when the waiver expires......

So you think that because guys are getting min guarantee all is good with our relationship with the company? Naive.......

The company did with without any consultation with ALPA. Don’t you real your emails?

Yup.

As an example, years ago after UAL bought the Pan Am LHR operation UAL sent 727s to fly around Europe just to keep the slots active.

When the waiver expires you have LHR with a fraction of the service it's enjoyed for the last decade. VA on the ropes, BA will fill a lot of the void but the airlines of the world will all be pressed into trying to fill LHR flights.

After this pandemic eventually culls the herd to a certain extent, at this point, it seems that the mode of business seems to be just to survive to the point that when things do get better (via actual demand) you can thrive in a world of cheap oil, cheap aircraft, plentiful labor, and room to quickly expand.

I wonder what happens to Delta if Virgin Atlantic goes tango uniform??? They have a 49% ownership in them.
