Have 135 experience but wasn't current, so got a job at the regionals. Been here for almost 4 yrs now as a LCA. BF flies at another regional and we recently decided to look at the legacies. Have a couple of businesses on the side so its not about the money. Just wondering what the better route would be to get one of the best legacy carriers. That's it. Sorry if you took my inquiry the wrong way.

Goctha and sorry if that came across as rude. Think of Aviate as a futures contract, you may be able to get somewhere else faster but its a crapshoot, the United deal is more likely bet. The only way to know is to apply, good luck! Every airline likes LCAs. (FYI better working conditions at the majors, look and see which allows most trip dropping)

I can confirm that at least one XJT Aviate person got a class date for September (me).

Super excited and appreciative for the opportunity, but I would hope that the communication improves for those going forward. It's been a very stressful couple of months.

Any other Aviate folks get the much anticipated email?

That’s great news!! I was hoping to see you say you got a class date soon! Was this for Sept 7th? Curious if you know of anyone else around your decile getting it as well?

Yes, it was for the September 7 class. I was 2nd decile until they just released the August FIFO update which I moved up to 1st decile.

This is great news. Congratulations!

So that’s one. Now that another week has come to a close, have any other Aviate pilots been notified of a class date? Anyone? C’mon Team Aviate. Show us some good news.

Just got off a trip with a FO in Aviate, and he like many wasn’t happy with the program. Zero communication and no movement at all. According to him, no Aviate people from us at AW or MESA/Commutair in august even though they were promised that. They have asked if they are slowing the transition to United due to the Aviate regionals being understaffed and have been assured they won’t be held back due to regional staffing. At least that’s what they have been told. Reality seems to be different.

Makes my decision easy, definitely not doing Aviate. This seems to be a program for someone starting out, but not for a pilot with experience. Another LCA friend of mine at CA texted me saying that he regrets getting into this program. Interviewed back in early Dec 2019 and still nothing. Really sad. He, like many in the program are interviewing and accepting jobs elsewhere instead of waiting in this lineup. Can see the frustration and exhaustion of waiting around for this program instead of excitement. I’m too old for this drama. OTS it is.

I know of 7 people that are starting in August from CommutAir alone.
