It is not uncommon to work under an amendable PWA while negotiations drag on ... has happened at most airlines. Quite a bit has to happen (or not happen) between an amendable date and calling a cooling off period. We never got close to a cooling off period.

And yes ... I have been there ... through it ...

I honestly don’t know the answer… Just think it’s interesting where both sides have planted their flag in the ground
The answer is votes. Both parties are pandering for votes anywhere they can find them. It is about gaining and maintaining power, working together to better the country is a back burner issue.

yeah I was not sure about UAL, but I’m 99% sure republic and allegiant both asked to be released to self help and were denied. IIRC the mediator at republic said they were too far apart to be released (whatever that means)

AA flight attendants were allowed to strike

I can’t recall the details on those.

The only thing that I have to say is that this pandemic has been grossly mismanaged from the outset. The leadership of this Country has underestimated what COVID was by calling it the flu or even a bad cold. Still there is no coherent plan going forward. Not only that but our current President is acting incredibly irresponsible by having his Reich Rallies while we’re in the middle of a pandemic. He has not shown leadership!!! He has shown an absence of leadership!!!

I agree with your statement 100% ... no leadership from the top. Reference my previous sarcastic post. Sad.
