Simple ... Test and Trace and Isolate ... that’s what every country that has had success (i.e. just about every other country in the world) has done; the better they did it, the better they isolated the virus to those who were sick while keeping those who were not sick healthy ... this isn’t rocket science ... it’s been done like this for years. With leadership and ingenuity, the USA could have been the leader in how to do this, but instead, too many people with the power got this strategy confused with shutting down the economy ... that is not what test, trace and isolate is about. Imagine if we had the capability to do daily PCR tests (the best are highly accurate with a very very low false negativity rate) for every American who didn’t shelter in place ... this virus would be dead by now. The technology & know how exists ... the leadership doesn’t. And this is not a left or right, Rep or Dem, Trump or Biden comment, nor is it fake news ... it’s the simple plain truth.

COVID is an infectious disease. It’ll run it’s course. Our feeble attempts may have a slight impact but in the end it’s a process that’ll run its course.

Are you referring to the experts that said 'flatten the curve'? We did that, which was what Fauci and the rest of the experts said would solve Covid.
Masks? We're doing that. ... and at one point, Fauci said we didn't need masks.

And now what? Total lockdown? What happens when that doesn't work? Lockdown some more?
Just look around the world - lockdown hasn't worked.
The curve's flattened - time to accept that no matter what actions are taken, Coronavirus is going to run its course.

At a minimum, Taiwan, New Zealand, and Canada have made our efforts look flaccid by comparison. We ought to do better.

You see it does actually matter. Who you decide to allow into your society matters just as much as how you handle a Chinese virus.
Go ahead and stick your head in the sand. At least you have one.

What, pray tell, does having/wanting an election campaign, that last 6 weeks from start to finish (as opposed to one that beats the h3ll out of everyone for a year or more), have to do with the terrorist event in France?

Please go into excruciating detail so I can grasp a sense of your logic.

Thanking you in advance.[/QUOTE]

Your post did not indicate a 6 week election campaign; that's a totally different tangent. I took it that you were referring to a 6 week lockdown.

Fortunately the pandemic is over tomorrow.
Arrogant statement to assume it’s blind following, he may believe in his message/agenda. And “No ability to provide leadership” is about as stupid a comment as I’ve heard claimed about Trump. You may not appreciate or respect his leadership, but he has absolutely led a change in American foreign policy. The GOP tried initially to disavow him and he has gained their buy-in and support over time on many issues. Just because you don’t like it or him doesn’t mean he isn’t leading. I don’t like him, but he is leading. And those with access to run the media are absolutely doing everything in their power to undermine him, and I get it, they hate his leadership style and his agenda.

You get that Taiwan and NZ are high compliance islands, right?
