I’ve gone from being optimistic, to frustrated, to amused regarding anything that United releases. I just roll my eyes now.
1. We’re getting a bunch of 737-700’s....... then we’re not
2. We’re going to have 16,000 pilots..... then we’re not
3. We’re getting the A350-900, then we change to -1000, then back to the -900 but more of them, then delayed, then again.
4. We’re taking delivery of A321 XLR’s in 2024........... potentially
5. The 50 seaters are going to most likely be a thing of the past under any scenario........ not holding my breath for that one either
My prediction is that United will look the same after the recovery as we did before. The only difference is that the company will be complaining about how they can’t offer a better contract without scope concessions since they have so much debt to service.

Maybe. But we weren't aiming for "look the same" pre-pandemic, so I'm still slightly optimistic and hopeful that w/ things like JFK, we're actually putting renewed focus on building the domestic presence as well. And as piddling as it is, at least that little 5% clause is better than a punch in the face if things drag on for a bit but we're profitable.
