Yep she was one of those out of seniority “captains” that came from CAL’s training center. And that has changed and is very different now. There are still a few of these neophytes around that were “grandfathered” in after the merger but the practice of making instructors into captains out of seniority doesn’t happen at UAL In fact except for the dozen or so grandfathered instructors that are left over, if you’re an instructor (FI/E) at TK you can not fly left seat EVEN if you have the seniority to hold it. FI/E (AKA “PI”) = F/O no matter what your seniority holds.

One of THE greatest things of the merger but there will always be cases of people being hired with minimal experience, for any number of reasons.

No explanation needed if you’ve got a question about a procedure look it up! That’s just good judgement and professionalism.

I’ve used wind shear precautions twice for take offs in the last week, the comment “wind shear = no take off” is really ignorant. So we are going to shut down the airline because LLWS Advisories are in effect? We all know that’s not how it works in the real world.

Ah, but see the last box? It says if you identify as two or more races, you can't be Hispanic or Latino. Other EEO boxes specifically make you check: White, Not Hispanic. It's quite presumptuous and I am now triggered, again.

just put Latino. No one is going to question you on it. If they do they know there could be a potential law suit.

All the other stuff is fluff and politics.

Let this thread die. None of us are in charge of the hiring department.

In today’s woke work world of self-identifying we’re all minorities, or women, or non/other-gendered; or are we?

I think you can identify as whatever you want and no one is allowed to ask any questions.
