New Hire Questions

When it was really rolling along you’d be off reserve in EWR, inside of about 6 months. I’m guessing it shouldn’t be to much longer now as long as the river don’t rise again.

I think you’re right. I was an October 2019 hire, after training and OE I started sitting reserve in mid January 2020 (EWR 737), and had a line for April 2020… now I’m back on reserve but I don’t think it will be for long.

If you’re already set on coming to United, I wouldn’t put too much brainpower into what the reserve rules are at this point. You’ll never quite get it until you do it and diluting it on this forum only gives you glimpses. Get on the new hire FB page and get a copy of the reserve gouge. You’ll take one glance at it and understand what I mean.

Yeah, I never could do it after day 1. There was always a time in the evening after which they could call after the last flight of the day left and I couldn’t get a primary and a backup flight to be there in time in the morning.
