captain can swap seats now without the flying FOs ok… but you are correct that failing to opt in could lead to no pay. I think this section stinks… just wanted to make sure everyone realized the flying FO doesn’t have to opt in. But just like today a Captain could force the swap.

Captains will have the ultimate say as always. I don't see a happy ending if there's a CRM issue with an FO who doesn't accept & believe in Captains Authority.

Just tell the captain that you rested for the trip expecting second or third break and that being assigned the IRO seat and first break will result in a fatigue call.

I don't like this TA either...and it'll likely fail, but we need to keep it real.

Captains has authority yes of course, but I have never been in a situation where the Captain re arranges the chairs, especially without everyone working together to agree on it. That’s why we have different pairing numbers for bunkie vs flying. Btw AXL where you by chance an exchange guy in the UK? I knew an AXL there back in the days

I get what your saying, but here is one, Capt swaps you, gets his 500 bucks. You never opted in, you go non current due to life event, you loose up to 60 days of pay. Would love to see this grievance play out. All the way around complete BS. Should never have been introduced. No different then having no flying seat bids and captain decides when he shows up. It is not hard to see that this is not a good thing.

I wish...but that's not me🙂.

Did you catch the Landing Currency video? Jeff Brown says that the company can lump all FOs together in one pairing with no delineation between bunkie and flying positions. He said that an IT limitation has prevented them from doing this, but its been solved. He insinuated (understatement) that they will do so without the TA. I dont know how that muddies the water?

Company can make the FO trips one pairing if they want. But I will need to know what break I am taking prior (like 24 hours prior) to the trip and if gets changed I will call in fatigued.

Man that is disappointing to hear. What a feces festival this is turning out to be. I guess I need to fix my attitude and manage expectations.
