That’s only for Global Reserve, which isn’t everything. I’ll be the first to say that Global Reserve needs to die, though. And our reserve rules do need a major overhaul.

Contracts will come and go at least three times in the hypothetical pilot’s career. Delta and United will always be at the top. Pick the airline that fits your personality the best/has the pilot domiciles you could see yourself living in and flies the aircraft you’ve always wanted to fly to the destinations you’d enjoy spending time in. The current hiring/opportunity for pilots is nothing short of “once in a lifetime “ and it won’t last for much longer (3-5 years max). Get the interviews and go with your gut and don’t look back.

“Only”… A321 Neo/XLR + 737 Max to replace 757s. Every fleet in EWR will be Global Reserve soon.

Default Green grass?

Hi guys. Sorry if it has been covered already. I’m alien to a lot of terminologies and acronyms used on this forum and I’m slowly learning. So please forgive if this topic has been covered already.

I’m contemplating moving to the US from Middle east, currently on the A380 and have flown 330,320 and 737. 7000 hours total time. GC holder.
What are the chances of starting at United on the WB and also the likelihood of based out of IAH (any fleet).
Or AA, DL are better options? (Any base)

Chances are good. About 10% of each new hire class starts on either the 777 or 787. The rest go to the 737/A320 or the 757/767. There have been initial new hire base assignments in IAH recently on airbus 320 and 737. 767/767 at IAH can come very soon if desired. It is a very small category flying South America, Munich, and a little domestic with mostly the 767-300. 777 and 787 still senior in IAH. Worst case you get 737 LAX/EWR/SFO as initial assignment. You can transfer very quickly to IAH or bid a WB on the very next vacancy bid (likely a couple of months after class date)

Artificial seniority? What does that even mean?

Go to Delta. SK still is not negotiating in a serious manner. UA’s worst in the industry pay, work and reserve rules are going to be there for a long while.
