Well, boobs filled with silicon are artificial while, at the same time, are still real. Most pilots understand the connotation of "artificial seniority" .

Don't disagree with the idea a pilot with a choice should go to Delta, but I wouldn't put UA as worst. I'm pretty sure we're a tad better off than AA pilots both in pay and work rules, but it's pretty sad to think lots of smaller companies are starting to leap frog us in pay and the regionals seem to have better work rules. Plus that could be the case for some time given current events. My only hope is that our falling behind in pay impacts hiring in a real way, but I have my doubts.

Yep. We went thru the Delta Express time... ya'll had TED, and I am betting that those captain positions went fairly junior primarily because of the pay scale (Many called it a 'C' scale at DAL). There were a lot of more senior guys that would say the captains were holding the seat 'out of seniority' which was complete horse****. There was not a single solitary pilot senior to any of those guys that couldn't have held the seat. Not one thing that was 'artificial' about it.

So we have new hire 767 captains here at DAL. Not one single pilot senior to them wanted that seat, so it is very very real. Nothing artificial about it.

United is like Starbucks coffee. Kirby promotes our brand as if it’s the best out there hoping that if people hear it often enough they will start to believe it. At the end of the day, our brand is not bad, but you can currently get a much better cup of coffee in Atlanta.

It’s the opposite of artificial juniority.

I ride the Atlanta brand weekly, I disagree, it’s the same as we are. Wait for gates, wait for jetway driver, hit or miss experience in back. Very nice crews, top notch to non revs, but only difference is uniform color.

I’m contemplating moving to the US from Middle east, currently on the A380 and have flown 330,320 and 737. 7000 hours total time. GC holder.
What are the chances of starting at United on the WB and also the likelihood of based out of IAH (any fleet).
Or AA, DL are better options? (Any base)
If you want WB flying United is an absolute no-brainer. If you want to live in a specific base that American or Delta are big in, go there.

If Houston is the goal, You can IAH 737 in a couplep
months

Our working conditions are not that much worse than delta… And they are definitely better than Americans. A lot of people are trying to get themselves very indignant to emotionally prepare for a drawn out Contract negotiation. The truth of the matter is, life is very good at United, but we do have good leverage, and need to use it appropriately in this round of negotiations.
