I feel like it doesn’t matter what happens, people on here will ***** about literally everything…
Beating both top and bottom line estimates is a huge deal. It is an enormous help to our negotiations, which have recently come to a screeching halt because the DAL AIP would have further embarrassed our negotiating committee. Thank goodness the company didn’t accept whatever garbage offer was on the table prior, had they accepted we would have taken another 6 months to unfu*k that situation.
Listen to the CNBC interview, the last couple minutes he is asked specifically about the pilot contract, he implies (again) that Delta has done the heavy lifting and ours should be done soon, after the pilots finish their recalls and get another MEC Chairman in place. He’s absolutely and discreetly calling us out, He knows what’s going on in our union, and is probably as embarrassed about it as most of us are.
Like it or not, when United does well, we all do well. A new contract and then United Next will progress in growing our airline. I think SK knows this and is on board with it.

But we are a global airline so we need horrible work rules and QOL to keep the company's scheduling integrity. Don't be selfish.

Jason Depew is a smart pilot over at Delta, I’ve been following his journey for years. He has a book out and is active on LinkedIn but his website has a few great nuggets we should all be knowledgeable about.
This article outlines how important qol improvements are to both gaining actual quality AND increasing our pay without rates but soft time additions.

Highly recommend looking it over, and passing it along to LEC/MEC reps. I particularly like the last section on ALPA, and how there is an undercurrent at the union to NOT improve rates too much because that would blow up their pattern bargaining process. Instead, soft pay and qol are the ways to leap frog pay into much higher levels.
