How much bargaining power should be used for pos space commuting? I’ve run into some of our pilots who live in places like Norway, the Caribbean and a few other “spin the globe” locales. They have full rights to do this knowing full well that that the commute is gonna be rough sometimes. If I decide to split time between Tokyo, Paris and Buenos Aires is should I expect that our bargaining power is going to give me a guaranteed seat every time I commute for a day trip or two?

While your example is extreme, you could say that about most benefits in the contract. They are always going to benefit some more than others. Like why do I have to pay the same health plan costs as some fatty c-papper or someone with kids? Screw them and their kids. I should pay less and they should pay more. Or at least that’s the argument you’re making.

Any COLA would have to be restricted to some drivable radius in base. Houston, Vegas, and Central FL already have a COLA with no state tax, so they’re out.

No, the argument I’m making is that that would be a massive change to our status quo and I don’t think it’s worth pursuing

I agree. Let’s get rid of healthcare, though. That is totally lopsided to benefitting the unhealthy. I’m on Tricare, so I should be paid more.

yup. Tricare saves the company somewhere around $12,000/year per person that takes it instead of the company healthcare.
