I know just a rumor but could you clarify the “retro” part? Are those the notional raise for the given years that compound for back pay calculations or are those percents of yearly pay for bonus calculation, like Delta’s 4% of 2020, 4% of 2021 and 14% of 2022 which corresponds to 4,0, and 10% notional raises for respective years?

Also looks like this would leave y’all about 2.6% ahead of Delta at the end. Interesting wrt the snap up.

Well that's just it, isn't it. Can't I just sort the trips and bid 500 to 1000 in the order I want them? Put winners above losers. Then it just awards in order of what's left at my seniority, skipping over conflicts. Then we could use any idiot's algorithm and uo ui to sort trips.

 

Whatever we get UAL ALPA shot us in the foot by allowing the company to give out the 5% raise early. We'll at best get 1-2% above Delta with no 5% on top afterwards. Bought and paid for with the Covid LOA for nothing.

Gotta disagree here. First off, by profit metrics alone there’s a good chance we were going to get that 5% before closing a TA, anyway.

Secondly, there’s an optics issue. As long as we’re negotiating anything with that 5% hanging over our head, whatever comes out is going to feel to many like the company’s offer is artificially lowered by 5% as an attempt to “double dip”. (Which was done explicitly in TUMI 1.) It just makes it generally harder to get enough people on board with a TA.

From the moment we signed the COVID LOA, legitimately getting that 5% during contract negotiations was going to be a mess, but that’s just a drop in the bucket of my myriad complaints about that LOA. Since it is officially the law of the land, activating the early raise was probably the best way to separate it from Section 6 negotiations & refocus on a proper contract. It’s up to each of us in voting to make sure that 5% isn’t getting hidden in the final draft.

No we can't.

First difference: we sort trips into 7 classes of equality for comparison vs ranking N trips into N classes. There aren't enough classes.

Second difference is that we can only cherry pick 50 trips because there are only 50 rows allowed in a bid. So to bid more than 50 trips it is mandatory to use the built in sorter with its ****ty UI and awfully restrictive choices.

Why can't we just bid the trips in order of preference? Forget fancy software. People will write their own, with their own criteria. We would be almost there today, minus the 7 bucket retardation, if we could cherry pick more than 50 trips.

We use NavBlue at DAL, and it seems to work pretty well. Our version is tweaked, and we get 200 lines, and there is a "FORGET & REDO" command that lets you relax some preferences and use the same lines over, so it actually saves lines for other things.
