It should be implemented at a reasonable and safe transition. >65 allowed to serve as SIC by 6 months each year. Then after 4 years if determined safe allow PIC age to increase 6 months per year for 4 years.

I'd go a step further, in 5 years you can stay an extra year to age 66, five years after that you get another year to 67. That takes care of all the self serving peeps and allows a ramping up unlike age 65. If the age 67 guys truly think its not about them, they would say yes to this.. It also gives Alpa medical time to collect data.

Considering how terrible it is to interpret our current contract I can’t wait to see the self referencing legal-ease sections filling kb’s of data and finding 12 people to interpret the same thing 12 different ways.

BL is this. At 65, you are old and degenerating rapidly; your time to fly is done. Stop trying to make fetch happen.

Oh don't get me wrong, I am not for an age change, I was trying (failed apparently) to point out that the age 67 crowd only wants to stay for themselves, not for the greater good of the industry.

But if they do ever change the age, it should be eased in.

Because all pilots of all ages are solely motivated eclectically and all career moves are purely for the “greater good of the industry”…..

I'm just saying that (the majority) of those that are pushing for the age change to 67 are approaching 65 and want to stay for 2 more years. They knew the game, they got to where they are because of the age limit. Now they want to stay, at the top of the pyramid. I am asking them, tongue in cheek, if they are asking for the age change because they think it helps the industry.

And if they are, are they willing to have it phased in if they would not benefit from it?

So we have to change the system because your failure to plan your life?

Yeah, I hope you get to experience that so you can “enjoy the same gains”.
Been there and done all the above. I am still and will ever be a "no" on raising the retirement age from 65.

Not saying change the rules. But if you believe that getting hired later in life in this industry is a result of “lack of career planning”, then you haven’t been in this industry very long.

The argument is that age 67 solves an immediate problem. Your fair resolution won’t help solve the present “crisis”.
