Sure, “check’s in the mail” on that…..and then Atlas starts taking more and more of their non-scoped flying…..

How would this work at a place like FedEx, that currently isn't hiring. It's one thing to bring pilots back to airlines that need them, but are they going to force an airline that isn't hiring to take back pilots? Would they furlough active, seniority list pilots to make room for retirees?

If someone retired at the age of 62, did they have the right to return to their seniority position? I suppose they could start over at any 121 operator.
Is there something in the bill that would forcibly undo an actual employment separation?
Retired is like resigned. Most of the time that is the end of it. Or is there some other provision?

Any pilot who is over the age of 65 and under the age of 67 is welcome back as a new-hire. I look forward to attending their 8-Ball ceremony and buying them a beer. Bottom of the list boys.

I am not pro age 67 nor am I close to mandatory retirement age, but your chest thumping, tempest in a tea pot schtick is e’ffing ridiculous.

And of course your opinion about how this is going to go down has nothing to do with reality. No matter how much you desire your fantasy to come true.

There are some people who have hit 65 already, but would come back if 67 happens and are wanting to do it at their old seniority.
If that happens not only do we stagnate, we go backwards in seniority for 3 years.
If 67 happens and they want to come back, they absolutely should go to the bottom of the list.

As much as I hear some of these members of congress talking about how this is really going to help the regionals and how these experienced senior pilots are going to mentor and benefit the new pilots, I think they honestly imagine that these pilots are just going to go fly at the regionals for their extra two years. The house bill amendment has a paragraph about them not flying in places that have an age limit, and the "retro" element of it just states that anyone not yet 67 can go fly part 121 again if they want. I can't see anything in there that specifically states "you go back to your old spot." I think the idea that the congressmen have and the idea that the pilots have don't exactly line up.
it’s not about staffing the regionals, it’s about slowing hiring at the majors to keep people at regionals longer
