Age 67

Now the age 67'ers want article 8 charges brought against their own union for lobbying for what the actual majority of pilots want, not raising the retirement age. Show up to your upcoming local council meetings to oppose this nonsense.

Maybe, but posting criticism of the NAS on social media doesn’t move the legislative needle. Lobbyists know this and behave accordingly.
I’ll give you the SWA meltdown over Christmas, but for most policy issues the public is clueless.

Age 67 is going to happen, might as well get into the BES you want now.
Hiring might slow slightly, but still at 2000 a year.
The progression in WB seniority and NB CA will slow significantly for 2 years.
No need to stress about it. Nothing you can do to stop it.

I hate to break this to you, but it just. Isn't. Happening.
Hope you didn't spend too much money on the "pilots for age 67" wild goose chase.

Pilots aged above 65 will not be able to fly to anywhere except 'Merica. They will have to put up a fence in every fleet (since they will eventually all be going across the Atlantic) for DOM/INTL flying. It could actually be very nice as the senior pilots will be forced to do the domestic transcons and hub turns, and the more junior pilots can get the sweet sweet international flying.

How was it in 2005 (when the us was still 60) that the foreign carriers could operate into the US at 60-65?
That was the MAJOR argument for going from 60 to 65 in the US was that all the foreign carriers can do it, just not the US based ones.
Are you saying that foreign rules override US rules, and all US rules are just a lower subset of aviation? Just curious how that works.....
