Other than that, yep, voting accordingly.
Biden will veto it anyway.

IDK why you guys are so worried about this? The legacy airlines don't even want this. One of the few things that ALPA and management are actually aligned on. Do you guys really think with sims already to capacity that they are going to allow this to pass when it would break the back of the training center with all the extra sim time needed for those 65 and 66 to go back to flying NB.

Not necessarily, in fact probably not. Especially since age 67 will probably be embedded in some large bill with a lot of stakeholders (that's how they get things done, while ensuring the pork gets distributed widely).

The bill would not pass congress in the first place without dem support, so a veto would repudiate some of his own party. That kind of thing does happen occasionally but it's rare and reserved only for really sensitive issues.

If both houses of congress were red, then yeah he'd veto anything and everything.

That's why it's not a sure thing.

Manchin and Kelly? That's not going to get er' done. HAHA. And it took 8 MONTHS to get those guys on board. Like I've been saying... AGE 67 will not pass in this Congress. Enjoy.

Doubtful he’ll veto absolutely anything restricting an activity due to age, regardless of common sense, advice, or party affiliation of the bill.

As we all know whether we can admit it out loud or not, he is in complete denial that age has a single thing to do with mental acuity, reaction time, speech, situational awareness, memory, motors skills, etc.

If it really had support it would've been attached to the debt ceiling relief bill. We're good for now.

Wait, so it’s NOT a Repub thing only like you stated previously? So now because it’s got 2 Dem Senators (which would be plenty to pass the Senate), that’s “not going to get er’ done”?
Too funny.
See Ricks post above and read how things get done in DC.
Age 67 ain’t dead by a country mile.

100% a Republican thing (until recently). The bill has been languishing for 11 months. It ain't happening. Not with the Dem's controlling the Senate. After 32 years in the airline bizness, I know how things get done in DC. "Too funny" is union pilots that vote against their own interests. Watch and learn, junior. This bill will not pass in this Congress.

Back the PAC!!

Jul 25 2022 WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina), John Thune (R-South Dakota), Deb Fischer (R-Nebraska), Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyoming), and Marsha Blackburn (R-Tennessee) will today introduce the Let Experienced Pilots Fly Act to address airline flights cancellations caused by a shortage of pilots.

Fully support age 67.
It is a must retire by 67, not must work until 67.
You can retire whenever you like.
I assume all those opposed to raising the FAA age to 67 will sign agreements that they will retire at 65, because they believe so strongly against it. Or, be the hypocrites you are and work until 67.

I’ve always voted for who I thought would be best for my country, state, or local community depending on the election. I’ve voted for people from both parties, but this job or ALPA has never even entered the equation.

Thank you. Someone who gets it.
Mr guppie? Not so much.
25+ years in the biz and will continue to vote country over job.
My two cents….
