They should have been more up front about that and open about the issues it would bring about. Congressional offices I’ve spoken to recently have no clue beyond “two more years = more pilots”. If major etc were out there saying the issues it might not have come this far.

This older article is about a pilot's mandatory retirement from ANA at 65. He took his experience mentorship to a regional operation of 39 Dash-8 classics to local islands.
This is the direction we should be pushing in regardless regulatory change. Mandatory retirement from line flying at 65 enshrined in the UPA
How many US pilots could pass the notorious Japanese medical anyway let alone our senior WB crowd?

How many seconds will it take for other countries to jump on the 67 bandwagon? There's a shortage of pilots worldwide.
By the way, this is from a 2006 ICAO report (before it went to 65):
Nine States (Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, New Zealand, Russian Federation, Senegal, and Ukraine) have no upper age limit[color=#525960], whereas fifty-five have an upper age limit higher than 60 years, ranging from 62 to 72 years.
For those that oppose an age change, my best recommendation is to write as many Senators and Congressmen as you can with a well crafted argument against changing the age. Your email will be read by a staffer - likely a young staffer. If your email has enough merit to it, it will be pushed up through the staff to the representative. A sincere good luck to you; it's going to be an uphill battle.
Here are a couple of large hurdles favoring a change:
-Changing retirement age to 67 helps keep social security solvent for a little bit longer
-Any summer meltdown 'due to pilot shortages' will make this more likely to remain attached to the FAA reauthorization bill.

Agreed, but the poster wanted a source showing that 67 was removed from the senate bill, which was provided.

Sen Sinema (D) is a committee member and cosponsor of the raising retirement age to 67 bill. As are Rs Sen Blackburn and Sen Fischer.
