I’m a student pilot and it’s been a dream to work for united, but when I took a closer look I’m questioning whether it’s worth it flying a 777 or 78 with bad contract, work rules and management

I keep telling myself that by the time that I’m able to work at a legacy it might get better, but going through the threads it looks like United go through the same cycle every couple of years lol. So I guess DL here I come lol

Unless you live in a United base that DAL doesn’t have, DAL hands down.

You are very patient/understanding, particularly for APC. Props to you.

I live Philadelphia with plans to move to NJ, so Delta or United would’ve been perfect for the international flying tbh

Guys…Cmon. He’s a student pilot so it’ll be easily 5+ years before he’s likely to be competitive. WHY do you guys imply that nothing will be improved between now and the time if/when he’s hired??

5 years is an eternity in the airline business

Average time in the regional and/or LCC game has dipped into the 2 year range, with both Delta and United hiring right at 1000 turbine and sometimes less, however, who knows what it will look like even in 3 years? If you get a job offer from United or Delta, you take the one who offers the first class date, IMO. A student pilot assuming either of those jobs will be a “pick’em” at that point is being unrealistic at best.
