This doc shows all the bases and the seniority number of the junior pilot in each fleet/seat at the base as of the close of the last vacancy bid.
There were unfilled assignments in the following categories, so those will be used for new hires as the company sees fit for the next 120 days
DEN737FO 6
EWR320FO 61
EWR737FO 169
IAH320FO 4
LAS737FO 16
LAX737FO 46
ORD320FO 4
ORD737FO 77
SFO320FO 54
SFO737FO 178
There were unfilled assignments on the prior vacancies as well, but the above gives a good idea of where the most likely destinations are for your initial assignment.
They are saying we will have large bids for next summer staffing coming up this fall, last month's "only" had 115 Captain awards (sarcasm intended). So the movement at the bottom of the seniority list is going to be eyewatering again. Open Captain assignments again? I doubt it, but eye watering nonetheless

Still, it's awesome to have all those WBCA awards. And WBFO as well! 10 people senior to me in my BES (737 FO) bid out to WBFO

I will say that NB Captain upgrade timelines will fall between 2-5 years dependent on where the vacancies are at with SFO, LAS, and EWR falling on the junior side and every other CA domicile being on longer side of that timeline…
So it will be dependent on if you are ok taking a jr captain slot in SFO and EWR and be willing to live with that decision for awhile…
We have a ton of FO who waited for new contract dust to settle before taking the upgrade who are stuck in bases that aren’t their first choice ie commuting to EWR or have been iced out from being to upgrade to a CA seat in their desired base (DCA is a great example of this)…
Like others have said, if there’s a big CA NB vacancy this winter, I expecting that there will be movement of CAs who was stuck in coastal bases to bid out, FOs who have been iced out to upgrade in their desired base, coastal bases to be available for more junior folks if they want the upgrade…

there is a small group of very, very junior captains who received the bid on the day of hire.
That’s a long story, but is unlikely to repeat. United got ahead of deliveries with upgrades and so they have run very senior for the last year or so. Deliveries have picked up and a large volume of narrow body captain bids are anticipated soon. They will likely go much more Junior, but there is debate about how Junior. Likely will still be very Junior by historical norms at least in San Francisco and Newark. Possibly less than three years for both 320 and 737.

Hey folks, out of curiosity. How much can someone expect to happen after the LPA event if they had a 1 on 1 with a recruiter at LPA? I’m sure there is an answer to this somewhere I haven’t seen it. They pulled out my application and wrote a lot of notes on it I’m hoping this would make them go over it at some point in the future. Anyone with experience please educate me on the process.

We had a vacancy bid just this past February that had early 2023 hires getting Airbus Captain. Since then we haven't had any NBCA bids, just a couple backfills. So when there is only 1 backfill in a Category it generally goes senior, vs when you have 80 in a Category. But that one backfill is not the defacto "NBCA seniority". Just info the doomers like to pass around. We will know more by January when we have had 2 or 3 larger NBCA bids. We are taking over 100 NB planes in 2026, not counting the 10-20 more we get this year. I think its still going to go to 2 year seniority pilots, but we will find out.
