That hiring practice is manifestly in the interest of every major airline.
1) there are good people who are going to go elsewhere if not hired today
2) it increased the likelihood of a Spirit outcome that benefits their business

yeah as they lose multiple tens if not hundreds of thousands of future income and thousand+ seniority numbers. I feel for them and understand their frustration.

Sure, everyone wants to be hired sooner rather than later, but what's the reason to be frustrated here?

That united it taking an opportunity to hire very experienced pilots before other airlines do? That United is trying to eliminate a competitor that will allow it to grow in both size and margin? They're not doing this because of a toothless provision in the UPA.

Do you feel this is not right?

What makes your “buddies” more deserving? More qualified?

Why do you see this as unfair? Explain.

Not totally true. I’m at a regional and interviewed, another in my group was Flexjet…

You posted this two weeks ago; now no one is getting interviewed? Get a grip, man.

Bump.

Also curious what to be on the lookout for.

Does anyone have any data on what is being hired on the low end of experience/hours? Is it looking like TPIC is a hard requirement? (Probably wont be log any for many years). A couple years ago it was 2500TT and 1000 121 time that would get you an interview. Aside from Spirit pilots… (I hope they are getting the offers and interviews they deserve) Are these numbers getting interviews or offers again?

Thanks in advance!

Out of 8 people in my interview time slot, only 4 had TPIC. With that being said, the FO’s were all ACMI or ULCC. 3,000 seems to be pretty much the low end.
