Suspect anything that isn't controversial is fine.

I did over a decade in the vol fire service. That’s a great one because those ranks are dwindling.

I echo above answer though, a non controversial position.

I will say that NB Captain upgrade timelines will fall between 2-5 years dependent on where the vacancies are at with SFO, LAS, and EWR falling on the junior side and every other CA domicile being on longer side of that timeline…

So it will be dependent on if you are ok taking a jr captain slot in SFO and EWR and be willing to live with that decision for awhile…

We have a ton of FO who waited for new contract dust to settle before taking the upgrade who are stuck in bases that aren’t their first choice ie commuting to EWR or have been iced out from being to upgrade to a CA seat in their desired base (DCA is a great example of this)…

Like others have said, if there’s a big CA NB vacancy this winter, I expecting that there will be movement of CAs who was stuck in coastal bases to bid out, FOs who have been iced out to upgrade in their desired base, coastal bases to be available for more junior folks if they want the upgrade…

Just finished the leadership assessment. Mixed feelings overall, I know you can’t necessarily “fail” it but I just feel like I could have answered better. Oh well, guess time will tell.

Allegedly, It is no longer a filter that prevents an interview but it is still reviewed along with an applicants interview results prior to the final hiring decision.

What classes are people currently interviewing today for? I'm worried I'm gonna miss the boat. Lots of friends not too far ahead of me in total time are getting calls today. I was hoping I'd hit competitive minimums later this year, but I'm afraid by then it might be too late. How much of that 2600 will be filled by January?

0-200? 2400 is the latest hiring projection at United for 2026. 26000 pilots by 2030.

Apparently DCA might end up being pretty stagnant until bid to staff for 202 summer flying. Currently, the new IAD terminal with 5x customs capacity will open too late in 2026 to build a summer flying schedule around.

I suppose the better question is how many CJOs will be issued for that 2026 figure by January. I assume they front load everything and that by then, most of the year will be covered.
