Plenty is still a really small group amongst 18k pilots. It’s about the easiest delineation HR can make without even looking at an app.

For the Hogan, can you use your built in laptop camera or do you need a separate webcam?

Ok thanks. I was worried because I used my built in camera, and after, I read in a next forum someone say that you need to use a external webcam. Did it yesterday, guess I won't get the interview invite until after the long weekend.

Just curious what to expect for training. How many days on/off?

Also taking a decent pay cut (if successful in interview). What are the options to work + make more? What does picking up open time look like and are there any options to do so out of base?

Training is two weeks of indoc and a break then sim training. Break length will vary depending on aircraft, seniority and backlog ( 3 days to two months)
The pay cut will only hurt for a year tops. Plenty of open flying on the 737/ Bus.. Less on the widebodies ( with legality issues and seniority issues).
Out of base pickup after 1300 the day prior to the trip.

Wait, what about systems training after indoc and before sims?

“Systems training” is part of sim. It’ll be in the FTD phase. At the end of the FTD phase you’ll take your SV (systems validation) test. After that you’ll continue on to full flight sims.

You were NK, correct? If you made it through training there, you will have absolutely zero trouble in UAL training.

On reserve you can aggressive pick up and try break guarantee (74 most months ,77 summer months), you get 1 add pay for short call unused, if it’s a late build short call you get another hour. You can also volunteer to sit reserve on day off, if you do that the day before your trip and they use you you get 50% add pay for whole trip, if you do it on your last day you only get 50% of the last day of the trip. If you get rolled into days off on reserve (mostly a WB issue) you get 5:15 add pay and the day off restored. There’s also add pay for stuff outside peoples control , late arrivals, extended duty days etc
