Interview was a layup. Reviewing 25 years of data, double checking 15k hrs, prepping TMAT, even had my college transcripts, no letters from mom or 1st grade teacher though. plus coming out of the holidays did no favors . Biggest choke job since Canada in hockey. Too soon? They probably needed to check my blood pressure to see if I was alive. Not a NK guy either. I simply ran out of gas. Made it way too hard. Fired of the 13 items in record time too. 3 to 1 calculation, my brain just wanted to add numbers every time I saw them. Over prepared to the point, I probably couldn’t pass the Denny’s waiter interview. All on me. Awesome people, campus, presentation, everything was 1st class & happy. I know I genuinely smiled once when I took the tour. Was told Sept class, vacancy every base, 2500 for 2026. Would had better chance if had a wheelchair and Life support machine hooked up to me. Honestly nothing bad to say, and glad the NK guys got picked up. I wouldn’t have hired my corpse either. I didn’t know my favorite color at that point. Hardest part was making the decision to go for it
*FYI I interviewed in 2008 and made it through, waiting on a class. 1000 furloughed that April. Just at a dead end.airline where everyone is waiting for a merger. Why wait for something you’ve always wanted. So this wasn’t ego, money and my only app out there. Definitely didn’t deal with, I was owed this. I had to finish something I started or my 8 year old self would have disowned me, no violins only tasteful dumb@ss jokes allowed. Probably should have ate some mango before (Seinfeld). PM me, I gladly offer what I remember. And I’ll be applying exactly 12 months from that email again. Sorry for the novel, just had to write it out. Probably karma for getting hired with 500hrs at my regional that didn’t require a pulse
For what it's worth, I got it on my 3rd attempt. Been here over 25 years now. If it's what you want, I'd keep trying. Good luck!

Is the 73 the faster way to get to IAH? or is there not much of a difference between that and the bus.

I’m sure you’ll crush it on the re-interview. Good luck!

System-wide the 320 is generally more senior than the 737.

There's a negligible difference. On the last snapshot of the current vacancy bid, the difference between the two is the most junior airbus is about a dozen seniority numbers lower than the 73. Granted there is a large number of people who have no clue how the vacancy bid % feature works and think there is some advantage to waiting until the last second to bid, so it could change a little. For people actually in IAH right now, the current junior person before the vacancy closes is only a 250 number difference, with the bus being more junior.

Thanks for the info. Jan M&G and nothing since, not too surprised given my low time. I have heard similar re: OTS hiring. I'm hoping we see more OTS interviews second half of summer for what I assume is going to be a busy fall class schedule.

What is your TT? Im gearing up for a M&G and was told I need 3,500 TT which I am 2 months away from getting. The only TPIC I have is part 91 in a turbo prop and only 50 hours. Significantly increased my volunteer work, though. Just wondering if I have a good shot to get the hogan.

2700 TT. People with less have gotten Hogans. There's just not a lot going out to street applicants right now. If the above guy who got the TBNT was told September classes, then it's quite obvious that the summer class schedule will be light, if not non-existent, so they are not doing a ton of interviews as I understand it currently (and that's straight from pretty high level sources). UMPP/Aviate is a different story.

It seems most of us will be waiting until the summer for more interview traction, where I'd guess interviews ramp up again for (hopefully) busy fall class schedule. Good luck on your M&G, it definitely gets you in the door, even if it doesn't seem like it currently.

2700TT is an extremely low number, so don’t beat yourself up about not getting a call if you aren’t statistically or demographically unique.

I'm not beating myself up, but that said, I know like a dozen who just made the jump to UA/DL without any TPIC, and about the same qualifications I have (now) - just about 3-6 months ago. In the current hiring climate it's not that atypical, actually. Probably the best we've seen since the prime years of 22/23. I just missed out on United's last run but the word is that this fall will accelerate things again. I just recently got my M&G in so I'm optimistic about catching the next wave. Upgrade isn't a possibility for the foreseeable future at my current shop but I do what I can to stand out. I'm optimistic in general.
