Anecdotally, a class of 69 (nice) started today. Classes every week of Feb, so it seems like the 2500 rumor may have some truth to it.

Exactly. Estimate for 2025 was only 900 and it ended up being more than 1,600.

Apparently there were a lot of Spirit pilots in that class. Hopefully we keep hiring them.

How many job fairs have you attended?
I have a masters from Moscow University (I was born in the USSR) and one failure ages ago. No TPIC though. I have not attended any job fairs, I will have to look into it.

Not attending a job fair is huge. It does count points towards the app and it gets you in front of the right person. And all you need is the right person to get your app through. Good luck!

Haven’t heard it called that in a long while, especially since when you received your masters it was called Russia…….unless you are like 58-64 years old.

Listen if we’re up to me, someone with your experience shouldn’t have to go to a job fair,.......in fact Id grant an automatic interview and then Id have to hear something really bad in order for me to not want to hire you. I always say who would be more qualified (THAT WOULD APPLY TO UNITED) than someone who flies an aircraft we have in our fleet……in 85-90% of the same airspace and airports we go to???……The answer is nobody. Not to mention carrier in distress and all of that........ However we all know that’s not how it works.

That being said going to a job fair certainly wont hurt you, unless you say something offensive to the recruiter.

I was born in Ukraine, just USSR at the time haha, just turned 50. All the job fairs I have seen are only regionals. I was a little unsure about going to the NGPA fair considering I am not a member, and the next one is the Women in Aviation which I am also unsure about considering I am not a woman. I've had my app in for 5 months, but just hired Spitfire Elite to review it to give me the best shot. Discouraging seeing all my fellow NK guys getting picked up and I've got nothing.

Look you can go to the association of double amputee blind crocheting pilots even if you’re just deaf and gay.

and… if i were HR trying to decide how to get through 1000 great spirit resumes, I would absolutely use job fairs. Not to decide who was good, but who goes first

Don’t be. This is the mistake many people make. With respect to NGPA, There are two events going on simultaneously: 1. the NGPA convention 2. The Job fair

1. While also open to everybody who paid to attend, this would mostly be for people who are members and identify as part of that community.
2. Many and I might even say most people attending the job fair are not “members” as you say like identifying as part of that community. This is the norm and even amongst the pilots of this community this is not seen as inappropriate and welcome your attendance. The fees you pay to attend go to subsidize a lot of the other activities taking place throughout the summit.
