United to reduce regional flying
#91
Guess you got bored because people quit posting in the OO forum, and you'd have to use your real name on the student council forum soooo... You came here to tell mainline guys how you make more money than them, and how you don't care about their opinions of you, and that they should give up scope (will never happen BTW) so you can do more IAH-College Station turns? Exactly what are you hoping to accomplish?
99 percent of the people at Skywest are solid pilots and good people. But there's always the 1 percent I guess...

You have half of our list that is post merger with roughly 50% being military and the rest civilian. We have seen first hand the absolute horror show of regional flying either having seen it first hand, commuting, or listening to our training partners. We **** off high value passengers every day flying unreliable, outdated airplanes, with zero premium experience offerings, and we do it with the risk of a “united” airplane landing off the runway in Presque isle with the main gear in the engine. I will vote no on any contract that relaxes scope or allows the clown show to continue. When tumi came out with a slide saying “no gives on scope” while they very clearly gave on scope… no. There’s more people here that have seen a regional catered with a black trash bag filled with sodas/toilet paper/sanitary items left on the galley floor for a flight attendant to stow than management realizes. Hire these people and actually compete vs this bastardized version of air travel.

From: It's a plane and it's a seat
The result of the CHEP was no findings by the FAA btw.

BTW, every 121 airline gets a FAA CHEP audit about every 5 years. United was getting one this year anyway, they just move the timeframe up a few months.

By your logic, why work in the airlines at all? If you make more on side hustles, why even fly or post here?
Let's assume that your supposed side hustle does bring in all this money. Why would you choose to work at a place where you work more for less money? Even with dues included, OO salary doesn't come close to the big 3 carriers. None of this makes any sense, my guy.

My logic years ago with smart decision making is what makes sense.

i remember when a regional was being babysat by the FAA for a few planes suffering from loss of control…. Seems 200/700 don’t fly well on the back side of the power curve. I also remember says planes being restricted to certain altitudes and min airspeeds at this said carrier.
The result of the CHEP was no findings by the FAA btw.
