What if there were no regionals?

You're so obtuse it's laughable

Lots of mainline pilots never flew at the regionals. Military at one time was a bigger portion of the newhire classes. Of course in the 80’s and 90’s the major carriers might hire 300 in a great year so there was less of a need for the majors to hire from a regional supply chain. Keep in mind there was not a lot of hiring in the 70’s due to oil, regulation and economy. The 80’s had the failure of Braniff and Eastern with Pan Am, Midway I (please a lot of other small carriers) in the early 90’s. Jobs were scarce and highly competitive. Pilots faced rigorous interviews versus the fog and mirror get hired these days.

Oh I'm sorry. I'll go back to the United subforum and discuss scope protections and union collective bargaining. If only I can convince them to reduce the number of expensive mainline pilots to increase my profit sharing. Truly, you possess a dizzying intellect.

No, I get that. I was asking if the person I asked built time at the regional level.

What’s that paint job on your RJ? The RJs exist as a way to provide cheaper labor on a contract basis.

Scope exists to protect mainline pilot jobs and contract protections.

Period.

Scope is a hill to die on, for all carriers.

Oh that's for sure; your bon mots are awfully hurtful. Your public displays of incisiveness and management wisdom here should quell any doubts of your manly vigor and sigma-ness.
