The entire premise that "flying has gotten worse in almost every way" is right out of the gate utterly false. Over the past 30 years flying is better in all the ways that matter most. It has become safer, more reliable, and more efficient/affordable. You know what's gotten worse in almost every way? Tucker Carlson's fake news stories and the suckers who follow them.

For those who portend to be "mentors", here's an elementary tip: Don't publically present your extreme and contentious views on SM (or news shows) lest you bring threats to the cockpit every time you fly. If you can't find the discipline and professionalism to reign that in, it's because you prioritize your personal agenda over safety. Get with the program.

Yep I’ve ran across AA CA Steve and all of his explanations for every part of the plane on social media. He’s another one that needs to be reeled in along with a couple DAL guys all over facebook, one even starts every video with Delta Captain in bold letters 🙄

The article 8 process is exceedingly fair and the definition of fair representation. DFR doesn’t mean you have to tolerate people undermining the association.

The new pilots are much more professional than what we see here, that's for sure. Anyone who pretends they never had to learn on the job is either bluffing or suffering from dementia. For the aspiring "mentors" out there, lead by example and do so with humility & humbleness - Leadership 101.

Have a safety related issue? Professionalism would have you address it using the proper channels. A sensationalistic quack podcast has never been one of them.

These Bozos that are wearing their uniforms while making these videos screams arrogance.

Could not agree more, SW considering herself a "mentor" is laughable. When you lead the league in "Avoid Flying With" you are the antithesis of a mentor, she is a disgrace.

It would be fun to find what her total time was when she was hired, and compare it to the average new hire at that time.

Usually, I hear things like “I’m not a check airman.” There are some good pilots that are willing to mentor, but few make the attempt. Instead, they complain about airmanship or generational differences. Ridiculous argument imo.
Im not a boomer. I’m Gen-X, and so are the majority of my Lost Decade counterparts.

I also don’t understand your statement. Are you saying my argument is ridiculous that we have plenty of good captains that can mentor therefore we don’t need age 67?
