That said, with 250+ A321’s descending upon UAL over the next 7-8 years, I’d say the Max 10 wont happen though.
The Boeing puzzle should be interesting, good points!

Im also curious what the -700 plan is. Those planes seem pretty old, and if we’re gonna keep flying to shorter destinations like Key West I’m not sure if the -800 short field package can operate out of there. Or maybe the plan is to just down gauge to a 175?

I would bet we get 321’s and Max 10’s though. Kirby seems to be big on fleet diversification and I’m sure we got the Max 10’s dirt cheap. Plus that would free up more 321’s to cover for the 75 routes when they’re gone.

Maybe we shuffle Key West to JB on the 220? Not initially, but after they become Star Alliance? Idk how anything bigger than a 319/-700 gets into EYW and JAC. Definitely a necessity for the smaller variant

A weight-restricted/seat blocked -800 SFP can do Key West...

I've wondered the same about the Max7... Have ~120 less-than-youthful A319s and -700s to replace eventually.

Would rather see a [Bombardier] A220, though! It's a better product for the pax and much more modern and efficient. Unlikely to add another type for this 'small' a number, though...

As far as I have heard, the conversion rights are from the Max10 to Max 8/9s, though...never heard anything about the Max7.

The Max10 will arrive, though, just not as strong as originally planned. The Neos have become too well-liked by both the customers and the bottom line...

In the anti-ice case I think it's silly since it doesn't matter if you leave it on with the CFM-56 so just add logic and a sensor to turn it off on the Max. The procedure can stay exactly the same and the computer will protect against inattention.

The certification authorities are making them provide 3 AOA sensors standard so making them add an ice detector or an over temp sensor isn't too big a deal.

We're going to be flying this junk until the single pilot version comes out so we may as well pressure them to make it right and retrofit the rest of the fleet.
I am looking at a MAX-10 right now. This is no 3rd AOA vane and there never will be. The agreement was for “enhanced AOA” kind of like the 787 has.

That thing is an abomination and an insult to modern engineering. Should’ve been taken out back and shot.

All that work for 5 feet 4 inches more of fuselage…
