I would love to see the following things by the end of this year:
1. A full page ad in USA Today declaring that United's pilots have no faith in their "leadership."
2. The mother of all strikes.

The truth of the matter is that UAL is no longer nor probably ever will be a firm which grows organically again. The domestic market is saturated and internationally there are much better products and foreign carriers continue to grow.
I think it is sad when the only catalyst left to create career progression is retirements. Yet we keep dangling this carrot in front of ourselves as a means to keep plowing ahead. After 12 years, I've lost all appetite for carrots, either this one or a JCBA much less the prospect of having another 500+ placed ahead of me.
Just being honest-

There can be "growth"--when we take back the outsourced flying foolishly given away in previous contracts. I say "growth" cuz its kinda like a lizard growing back his tail after it got snapped off. We gonna be like a lizard, or just roll over and die a slow death in our own pool of blood?

That's what I heard and I thought that was the end of yet another airline tradition. But I'm not 100% sure that is a fact.

I hate to agree with you, but yes. Smisek cares about 2 things: his paycheck and slashing costs. 737-500s and 767-200s are now on his chopping block.
