The letters are going to all remaining L-UAL furloughs... letters are being stuffed now... not sure if phone calls will follow, should have my Fedex letter by late this week! Now a contract with Scope, LONGEVITY, etc. !!!!
I won't hold my breath on a decent contract!

The BIG question is, "When will s-UA recall to start covering retirements." I have to believe these classes are to cover retirements on s-CA. How long can they hold out on the s-UA side?

As long as it's cheaper to fly pilots under the CAL contract, which it will be until the JCBA.

Some are expressing concern about going back with a strike push on the horizon. First as far as probationary status if you hadn't completed probation at UAL before furlough as I understand it you are a non-probation full union member when coming to CAL. Also aren't there furlough protections in place through the recent LOA until March of next year as well?

A few are predicting the bypass rate will go even higher with this set of letters however it's likely the offer will find many current RJ flyers and non-mil folks who haven't much to loose.

Also, more than a few are postulating the chances of United being released to strike is slim due to national transportation issues and the two sides will find common ground in the 11th hour.

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on these subjects.

Just hoping to get the letter (considering my "status"). Need to get out from behind the desk....
Rollin' the dice (AGAIN!!!) if I get the chance.
What happens if another 9/11 type, what happens if another recession/depression. Tough call, you never know...

I know one of our fellow classmates (#1) already gave his notice today!!!

if there is no release, there is no 11th hour.

I'm looking at as a chance to warm my hands up after 7 years of not flying. If the brain trust in Chicago jerk the pilots around at the end of summer, I'll walk away with currency and a type under my belt. Then I'll wait for the REAL recall. I don't know if it has been factored into the Wacker calculus, but they've got a slew of people who can walk away at any moment. If I was a HR guru, I'd be sweating bullets.
