Yep...the first of many.

Venema said the 757s wouldn't start showing up in the available aircraft until November at the earliest...probably to coincide with hiring off the street. (I added that last part, not Venema).

Wouldn't that make it the second class of many. I thought one started on Aug 28th.
Excellent, 757's for new hires off the street.

Is there a seat lock coming out of training at s-CAL? If so, for how long?

Sorry, I stand corrected. 8/28 was the first of many. I believe they skipped a week and the second class is going to be 9/10 (even though it actually starts on the 11th).

I don't believe there is a seat lock. My friend who was in January class in 737 starts 757 training on Oct 1st. The way they run their bids only twice a year...its almost like being locked for a year. I think you need to be line qualified to participate in vacancy bid. For example, the class that started 8/28...I don't know if they are included in the vacancy bid that is open right now. The next bid won't be for another 6 months or so.

There is a two year seat lock that only applies to down bidding.

I sent Venema a note yesterday saying that I would be interested in a Jan class date.
