Agreed......LCAL guy (CV was in Denver) stated that with the latest offer only 30ish accepted this time around ----- apparently it has been bumped up 17 in a week. Bottom line was that he indicated there would absolutely be off the street hiring this year and exploding next (50 a month).

UAL back in their heyday were hiring 80/month......would like to see that again due to growth. Alas it will be from poor planning and ineptitude on LCAL's part.

So roughly 50 seats to fill for the Nov/Dec classes. First with the poolies from both sides, then street hiring.

How many people who had job offer and were waiting from both sides? 30-40 total?

Either way, I think hiring will happen sooner rather than later.

In 2008, email from CAL C.N. previous HR, said, 28 guys with classes canceled or without class assigment. On UA side, was similar number; however, I don't know for sure how many. Friend of mine in UA pool, told me, he is not interested anymore, so I think we might see about 40 to 50 total guys in pool from both sides. Just speculation, nothing for sure. Many guys moved on to different airlines, SWA, DAL, JB, VA, etc...

Shrek,
They are behind or sure. CV has gotten a lot of push back for creating a new hiring process while trying to keep HR out of the physical interview process. He has won and lost some of these battles but it delayed them a lot. Playing catch up is never fun.

Looks like I will be back to FAR 121 flying career after about 50 months off as a UAL furlough of Sept. 2008. Class date confirmed by CV via email today! Probably looking at 8 ball again!

Yippee!

Congrats to those going back.

Can anyone shed any light on reserve life at UCAL. Minimum days off? can you pick trips up out of open time? what is the the so called Guam package about?
