Hey FlyingFarmer, What class were you awarded? What was your original hire date? I was awarded November 6th. That was my last choice, I was a September '07 hire. I don't think their will be any off the street hiring. It seems enough guys came off bypass!?

From my FAM day last week, reserve is rough. You get 12 days off a month, but 8 are hard days off (can't be touched) while 4 are soft (movable) so, if you had 4 days on 3 days off and 4 days on (not realistic) and those 3 days were soft, they "move" those off days, and you could be working 11-12 days in a row

Nov. 13th class!!!!
Was offered Nov. 6, but I would have been the ball. So chose the 13th hopefully to give me a chance at EWR.
Also, was told by CV, there will be some "new hires" in my class. (those who were offered a job back in '08, but never made it to class).
I forget the exact numbers, but something like 30'ish for CAL and 30'ish for UAL, would eventually be offered the chance.
He is trying to work out some type of new hire process. I have a friend who was just "laid off" who lives in Houston. Charlie said to remind him come October, because they will be looking around then for "off the street new hires"....

Might happen - bottom 756 EWR guy as of today's snapshot is at 79.8%. I would say that means some vacancies will be available to the upcoming "new hires".

Thats good to hear! The later you go in Nov, I think the better chance of getting the 757. Just be careful what you wish for because you might get it!
