How many UA furloughed guys will come back over the next few years? When will you get hired? How many guys will leave LAX for different equipment/bases to free up space? Those are the questions I would be asking myself to find out how long it would take.

Why is ORD not available yet? No vacancies or TPA restrictions?

No vacancies.

Not surprisingly, the "new" bases of ORD and DEN were filled while EWR and IAH had unfilled vacancies. Also don't forget that the junior pilots that actually received ORD in the last S-CAL bid were L-UAL furloughees who were simply returning to the base they were furloughed from.

Thanks, I figured as much. EWR will be fine for me. Is the 73 flying there still better than the IAH 73 flying?

To me it is. I fly one leg to the west coast the first day and fly one leg back to EWR the second day. Can't do that from IAH (and get 12 hours pay).

The "better" flying is based on seniority, not base.

I'll be in training mid-November. Hope to see some of you there. The breakfast burritos aren't too bad. Some of the lunches are good too.

You should see the "Chow Hall" we had at DEN (DENTK) actual hot meals, salad bar, fruit, you know the complete deal. I cannot believe CAL gets away with the "breakfast in a ice chest" or the crappy $7.00 lunch stuff.....I just ate out or brought my own food.

The Houston Training center was a let down. Yet the Kool-Aid drinkers will tell you how "advanced it is"

I hope they upgrade the place!

Wait until the "winging ceremony." Wings on your desk during a ground school bathroom break.

EWR 737 is way better than IAH 737. EWR is a little harder to commute to due to the afternoon delays. But this isn't your first rodeo. Avoiding the redeye CCS and BOG 3 day is also a big plus for EWR. :D I also found myself doing a lot less POS out of EWR. Some guys dig those places...I do not.

FWIW CLE is where you want to be.:p Although you will be covering a great deal of EWR trips.
