UAL Recalls

All Quiet on the Mid-Western Front.......
I find it amazing that there is still no mention of the recall on Skynet (cue sinister Terminator music), nor the Flight Ops homepage.
At least, I couldn't find any.

From airlineapps FWIW
"Thank you for your interest in United Airlines. We plan to be hiring pilots in the fourth quarter of 2012 and in to 2013. In preparation for this hiring, we are updating our application and addendum to better reflect post merger requirements. These changes are nearly complete and we expect to start reviewing applications in the coming week.
Please make sure your United (previously Continental) application in Airline Apps is up to date and check back regularly for any announcements regarding application changes."

Wow - I can't help but notice the UCH complete silence...
Oh wait... they are just too busy right now with the news release about new hires

Great question... I sure hope it is a moot point with the new JCBA giving full longevity for (pay/vacation credit) both CAL and UAL furloughed pilots. Otherwise, as it stands now the answer is; No.

IMHO, I feel they will put put something in the JCBA about longevity, but as a bargaining chip, something to give away. It will go something like "We'll give you DAL +$1, but you need to get rid of longevity for pay, or we can't afford it" and the 10,000 above us will say, "well, that does't affect me, get rid of it" (just an example, I have no knowledge of anything in the TA) So I feel, it may be out there, but it will never make it to the final draft.
I not tying to be negative, I'd give up my 67 Beetle to get longevity, but I'm a realist, and I just don't see it happening. I really hope I'm wrong.

On that note, I know some of us are literally banking on new pay rates. If the JCBA never comes through, there's just no way to last at antiquated bankruptcy first year wages for some people. But it's cool, I like ramen. No, not really.

I've been at UCAL for 5 years and it is by far superior to a regional.
First 3 years at CURRENT rates were not the most fun but I'm now making more money than I was at the regional I was at.
With that said, we need drastic improvements but please look long term.

The 6 month no medical is a Lorenzo holdover that needs to go!
