As with all contracts, there will certainly be MOU's regarding implementation timeline and the like. And, as you say, I would imagine some type of MOU regarding the subject of furloughs on the CAL property at date of signing. We'll just have to sit back and wait.
Okay, latest rumor I got today was TA announcement on the 19th.....don't hold your breath.
Frats,
Lee

Since no one has posted this with regards to the LEC Council meeting the other day (8 Oct 12)-
It was stated that the TA was hoped to be completed by mid Sept. Then the date was 1 Oct. Then it was 5 Oct. Until a few days ago it was 11 Oct and now the latest is 19 Oct.
After what I heard at that meeting, I no longer have faith that we will see a full TA any time soon. (That is just my opinion, the dates above were facts as stated by the MEC Chair).
Guess we'll know by next Friday~
Motch
PS> I hope I'm wrong.. but between the games the company played with regards to the Training Section, and with the "Bonus" amount still to be determined by the two MEC, I am not holding my breathe.
While I don't want this rushed, I also don't want to be lied to by my own Union.
AIP announced 2 Aug. We had release deadlines in June and July...
And still we wait~

What training section games?
The killer is how to,distribute the lump sum? It appears the company wants and immediate vote ( aka passage) onmthe jcba so they can begin planning and taking advantage of more synergies, bc they know the pool of $ will take forever to get an agreement by the mecs thereby prolonging other issues... The tpa doesnt expire in whole, but certain parts do in 2.5 months..
This is the most embarassing attempt at ending a contract ive ever seen or been privy to.

The incomplete AIP was announced by Heppner to dissuade political angst against him for not having accomplished anything. Remember when the Wallach/Heppner supporters were crucifying Morse for not having an agreement after having only been in office for the same amount of time?
No previous administration announced an AIP unless it was a complete AIP. This was a partial AIP with major portions unfinished and portrayed as a "great win for the United pilots." It's announcement was pure political BS that is going to backfire on Heppner.
Once again the "great unifier" and the "great negotiator" and the "great MEC Chairman" put his politics before substance and the United pilots and we will all suffer.

Supposedly (though it was confirmed at the Union meeting)..
The company got/hired/found Jackson Martin to read over the final language for the Training section and he Red X'd alot of it! Took 40-60 man hours to fix/come to an agreement.
That's the "game" I'm talking about.
As I stated, based on the "bonus" (no longer Retro) issue and how they divide the money, I don't expect any TA any time soon. I actually blame the NC/MEC for allowing the company to come up with a great way to point the finger at the pilots/union for "delaying" the JCBA.
Anyway, let's see how many other Sections run into Language issues...

Thanks for that info, i had not heard anything like that. Well hopefully they got it worked out for the better. Cant blame the company on how to distribute an award, thats on the mecs, the pie is only so big, so just share it equally bc its a mexican standoff if one group gets 50.1%
We need to come together in so many ways to move forward, but the damn $ keeps changing the game. Sad really. One year = $150 million more in compensation dal gets more than ual, thatbwe can never recover

From the LEC level, I've heard that there has been some major discourse between the MEC's on how to split the "Company Bestowed Pot". Via the same LEC Rep, there has been "conjecture" of a 70/30 (UA/CAL) ratio floating about.....time will tell.
Your right, it could turn into a Mexican Standoff. I sure hope that something agreed to soon so that the details/review of the T/A can begin to get this process in motion.
One thing's for sure......Taken way too long.
