Well said Zoomie, but these guys just refuse to get it. We had 2.5 year upgrades in 2007. United at that time was a year out of bankruptcy. Growth slowed for everyone during the recession and age 65. After that, our growth would have continued absent the merger.
If we were "stealing" all the growth, why wasn't your union fighting for your share? I never once heard your union say the company was being unfair. Why did your union agree to only 90% flying in the TPA?
The answer is simple, you were shrinking and CAL was growing.

Most importantly.... it's a moot point. Who cares? It's over. Nothing any of us say on this board is going to make any difference now that the award has been issued and accepted. Lets move forward. And that goes for my LUAL Brothers and Sisters too.

Those are some impressive web blogs you read there. Let me guess in between shows on Fox news?
Spin it anyway you want... It was a stock swap...Not a purchase.

United ADDED THE NAME continental to the corporate name.
It's United Airlines still. United BOUGHT it with UNITED STOCK which it gave to CAL shareholders. The CAL stock is worthless because that company is gone.
Welcome to United. You are now on our seniority list, which you weren't previously.

Who are they going to give the CASH to exactly????? The shareholders?
Private companies tend to be bought out by cash. Public ones are stock.
Calling it a "stock swap" does not change that United bought Continental.

Hey LAX:
The ISL Arbitrators saw through all the mis-direction of who bought who and the intentions of the company. But regardless, the truth is ex-CAL runs the show at UAL today.
Let's make a list:
1. ex-CAL operating certificate
2. ex-CAL Sr. VP of Flight Ops
3. ex-CAL Maint. Certificate
4. ex-CAL Reservations System.
5. ex-CAL Cabin seating (for the most part)
6. modified ex-CAL Pass Travel system.
7. ex-CAL Expense reimbursement system.
8. ex-CAL Video Learning
9. ex-CAL Contract (mostly).
10. ex-CAL Paint Job
11. ex-CAL Uniform (slight color change and Buck Rogers wings and logo)
12. ex-CAL Pilot Base names.
13. ex-CAL CCS
14. ex-CAL PBS.
Need I go on? The only thing which make this airline United is the name and the financial backing.
Better get over it LAX pilot (I'm ex-UAL).

In reality both stocks UAUA, and CAL were exchanged with shareholders getting different ratios. A whole new holding company was formed, called UnitedContinental holdings.
Your list???....not anymore....ITS OUR list. ONE. Move over roomie. By the way....I think the ISL went pretty good.... as I expected. Merged in with guys hired years before and much older.
Honestly, I could care less what it's called, or who is running it as long as the checks keep coming.
Time to move on. When do we start negotiations on the next contract?

Thought of a couple of other things for my list.
15. ex-CAL PC
16. ex-CAL hiring process.
17. ex-CAL crew meal (they didn't have them).
18. ex-CAL Check Ride grading.
19. ex-CAL SOPs (OK we gave some oral stabilized approach calls).
20. ex-CAL Cockpit checklists
21. ex-CAL CatII-III SOPs (did get rid of "monitored approaches soon on the ex-CAL side)
22. ex-CAL Log books
So what is ex-UAL?
1. The "new" paycheck system brought to us by Tilton.
2. Sabre Flight planning.
3. Crew pre-flight briefings.
Add some yourself.

That's the STUPIDEST thing I EVER HEARD.
The FUNNIEST is #9 Ex-CAL Contract. Dude, the contract was almost IDENTICAL to the UAL contract. The only thing than changed was pay rates for us. CAL pilots got the benefit of the UAL work rules. Even your NC Chairman stated they negotiated off the UAL contract. Also #3 we are using the United Maintenance Certificate. The same one we used before we bought Continental.
OMG this is hilarious.... paint job? LOL
Base names? What does that mean exactly? We didn't name our bases at United? If you mean calling EWR "Sewark" everyone in the world calls Newark that name. Or IAH "Redneckville".
I will admit we did gain some choice places to live like New Jersey, Texas, and Ohio.

Wow, all three knuckleheads in a row. How nice
Sunvox, you are the one that needs to get his facts straight, CAL was recalling in 2010 and only furloughed in 2008. CAL made money in 2010 and I don't know where the arbs got that we lost 1.5 Billion in the 7 quarters prior to the merger, but they are mis-informed. We lost 586 in 2008, 282 in 2009 and made 346 million in 2010.
Why did your union wait until 2013 to file a grievance? Was it a MEC grievance or an individual one from your TRO guy? What happened with that grievance? Why did your union agree to shrink 10% in the TPA?
Is this your statement for everything now? "Well, the arbs agreed with us so we right about everything." Puhhhhllease. Give me a break.
