Hey Hoss ... Did the old, dead, almost didn't survive UAL have the option to force TDY assignments? The UCH UAL does ... and this UCH UAL does not like displacements ... they will avoid displacements by using any means (and loophole) available to them in the UPA; after that, they will violate the contract and win the ensuing grievance. NO BUMP NO FLUSH

Yes but only in NYC and IAH I believe. Has to be the same domicile. In the last couple, and next year or so, UAL will have parked over 80 757's. That is over 1000 pilots.
I believe that the DEN 757 base will close, or at least be shrank massively, and it is not that big now.

I agree DEN 76t base will close and those pilots will be displaced, eventually. It has been a while since I looked at the dynamics of the base but, I believe it is pretty small as you say. This should help as it is absorbed into the 737 base.

There are going to have to be displacements. It's a mathematical impossibility for there not to be.

lCAL had 756 bases in IAD and LAX?
The company will not TDY DEN 76T pilots, who are being paid to not work, to go sit in a company paid hotel and per diem, to not work, in a different domicile.
The 76T fleet is overstaffed by several hundred pilots already, in a year or two, it will be overstaffed by a thousand.
It is every airline pilots dream to get paid to sit at home. They will have to be dragged (bumped) kicking and screaming, out of that position.

I would love to sit at home and not fly, but that doesn't appear to be the makeup of the majority of UAL pilots. Most want to break guarantee. The junior line holders are getting low credit lines (because the senior bidders are requesting high credit and pay). If, as you suggest, it is every pilots dream to get paid to sit at home, then all of the reserve lines would be going to the senior bidders who are in fact requesting high credit flying lines.
My guess is that the 756 FO's in Den and Ord, who are junior line holders, will happily bid off the airplane for a left seat in the 737 or a 777 FO position.
Now, will the company have a displacement bid? Sure. Will junior 737 pilot be displaced? Remains to be seen. Read the contract; the company can control this if they choose to do so.

DEN and ORD 76T are close to 40% on RSV both seats. IAD is not much better. JFK actually needs bodies, which explains the new hire seats. THe company's strategy is a good one....make it miserable and hope for voluntary movement out of the overstaffed bases....but they will have to bump eventually. THis last vacancy did see some 76T guys jump ship, but not near enough. The ex-UAL 757-200 count has dropped from 96 at MAD to 85 last qtr to 78 today. A very aggressive schedule. When they do bump, there doesn't have to be a "flush", or secondary bumps. There haven't been many 737 CAP vacanies. Part of that is they are still training from the last system bid, but part MAY be anticipation of displaced 76T pilots moving into those seats. They don't have to be in a hurry. The longer they wait, the more voluntary movement there will be...but summer is coming. I suspect we will see a bump in Spring if not sooner. In the mean time, as I've said, enjoy the paid ski vacation...

No, and that is what is making many of the LCAL pilots upset. The company is using the BAT process to in effect open a 756 base in LAX and IAD. By doing this they keep the displacement of senior 76T pilots down by redeploying the LCAL 756 A/C to these locations.
