Forgive me. I thought there was a discussion about improving the profession going on and used sarcasm to make a point. From what I can tell, there seems to be quite a divide between Line Holders and Reserves. Full disclosure - I'm a Delta guy. Reserve goes rather senior in many categories. Our rules appear better in most respects. Not rubbing it in. We are trying to get a new TA and I was wondering what your Reserve was like. I was also trying to get a grasp on your new AIP and made a comment where I don't belong. This is your arena, not mine.

Again, please forgive me.

@buscappy - sounds like you got yours. That attitude in any "profession" is awful. Selfish thinking without empathy will get us nowhere in life.

When you get down in the 'crab grass' there will be disagreements on many issues, always the case.

One has to look at any 'TA' in more a general compensation sense. We could go through 10 'section 6' negotiations and still come up short, as some define it.

If my reserve sucked I would want the new hire to have it better. Leave things better than you found them.

It's not a 16% pay raise. It's 13.4% over what we would of had 1/2016.

we don't know that for sure… as the AIP isn't published yet. From what i've heard "it depends"… if this AIP is signed after our next raise occurs then it should be additive.

Good post my comments have been about the RUMORS. There is a threshold for everything. If the money is 19% (with 3% in Jan OR 16 % after our JAN raises) then I will most likely be a yes thats to much money to say no too. However 13% is not enough with these reserve rules.

My vote will be based on the entirety of the AIP.

I'm talking about over the life of the deal. Fine, 15%.

yep. i got mine. had years on reserve as engineer. had years on reserve as junior cap. always had to be with few hrs of ops, 24/7. now after two and a half decades I can hold a line, and i read the guys on reserve want to sit reserve 12 hours away from the field even if it costs all 12000 pilots some pay
not impressed with the greedy entitled attitude of newer folks on these forums
