Company.

No. Although I do wonder: if they get retropay back to 1/1/16 based on 22% pay rate for 2016, is that me too.

Gas is cheap. Our loads are fantastic due to the latest round of mergers. We're awash in profits and have pricing power that hasn't existed since deregulation. We're already much cheaper than DAL and Willis knows it. As DAL pilots reload and shoot for the moon, we're in full Milquetoast mode. Stopping here is idiocy. We can get a raise and improve QOL if we want, but it seems that capitulation is easier. Our union hasn't prepared us to fight for anything and the pilots don't have the will. 13% Yippee!

Suckit.

Its clear that management has our, and certainly Jay Heppners number. They may not do a very good job of running the operation, but they sure do know how to hoodwink this pilot group.
Excellent summary. We have a lot of new people that don't know the history, and need to be mentored about the past, we however, I fear, are making new mistakes. I think we could have our cake and eat it too, but walking out the door instead.

A little off subject here but does anybody know if probationary pilots are allowed to vote? I'm thinking no but seeing if anyone has a definitive answer.

I'm not probationary. Also, it seems like people forget that things change overnight. We were hiring 1000 pilots a year until we furloughed literally the next day (remember 9/11) You who think something catastrophic isn't going to happen before the signing of a new contract are out of touch with todays world. I doubt the restoration of longevity and back pay for furloughed pilots will ever be seen again. But who cares right. And to mention, if this isn't passed, all of the previously furloughed guys will continue to work at less than 12th year longevity.

It is this kind of reasoning that leads to idiotic arguments....FRMS is NOT a concession...it is without a doubt an improvement from what we had before hence why we had a side letter before...just because it is not the colored rose you wanted does not mean it is not a rose.

You will keep trying to find a negative on a TA that is a win for all of us and you dig and throw crap around hoping something will stick...this TA is a good thing...it is real...it is here...not some make believe assumption on what you and others think we can get without the realities of dealing within the scope of the RLA...take the money and thank God we have been blessed like this....

Excellent summary of what??

This is an extension of the best contract of any major...have you looked at Deltas and Americans work rules???

This is an extension that gives us the pay plus the same profit sharing we have now...a year before the TA becomes amendable...and before we go to protracted section 6 negotiations...this TA puts us ahead of all our peers NOW...not 3 or 4 years from now...

Instead some of you here want to throw the dice on an idea that we can get above the 18% we are getting plus make up what we will lose in lost earnings from now until we sign your Unicorn contract....Unicorns don't exist...this TA exist...it is real...it is here..now...wake up!!!

Take this deal!!!

It buys us 2 years to get our act together. Yes, we don't have our act together.

CAL Captain John Prater become head of ALPA several years ago and he was going to "Take it back" and make pilots respectable again. Well he didn't. Ask him, ALPA is obsolete, broken, and can't be fixed. The ALPA tool box is worn out and holds nothing. The ALPA playbook is from doing business in the 1970's it isn't going to change. If you want an industry leading contract then you need to start thinking out side the box and start a new Union just for us UAL pilots. NOW IS THE TIME.

Let's see who the the real leaders of our pilot group with a new vision rise to the occasion. Let's take the ALPA pin off our ties and stick it on our ass so everytime we sit in a Pilot seat it hurts and reminds us of where the real problem is.

What do you say Dave F.?

You "NO" voters would rather work for 13% less while on Reserve fighting for better Reserve work rules that would take affect by the time your well off Reserve and you'd rather not have a Delta "me too" clause while doing this (and you have an education?). And somehow better vacation and training pay 3 to 5 years from now will put more in your pocket than the current TA extension? Maybe we should vote this down in order to get an Organic Crew Meal choice! Nobody I know has ever been thrown an extra $30K a year just to extend their current working conditions 2 more years. Which by the way, I bet most of you NO voters were Yes voters for our current contract! I personally like my current contract and I personally would really enjoy the extra money! No brainer! I just flew a 5 minute extension for nothing. On this TA, I would've been paid 2.5 hrs for 5 minutes! Once again, No Brainer!
There will always be reserves. Whether it is on the CS100's that might be coming our way all the up the most senior queen of the fleet, the 747. Why does reserve have to suck? Why does it have to be for the junior people? We definitely shouldn't give up the fight for QOL.

Personally, I think it's a slap in the face to see a video of Chairman Heppner essentially saying "reserves weren't worth fighting for so we just struck it from the table".

With your reasoning, maybe the long haul pilots should bid off of their flights if they don't like being extended?!?
